Recently the Globe and Mail featured an article about the Walmart Supercentre in Ancaster, Ontario, which is being touted as a ‘test lab’ that is designed for the digital age.
Walmart Canada chief executive Lee Tappenden provided an overview of the store and what sets it apart from the other 400+ Walmart locations across Canada.
We thought we would send a few Field Agent’s to the store to give us a Virtual Tour and save you the drive to Ancaster!
Some of the features of this store include:
- Mobile Scanning Guns which allow you to scan purchases as you shop.
- Increased space in key categories such as Baby, Toys and Health & Wellness categories.
- Decreased space for categories such as furniture, cribs and strollers which consumers are buying on-line these days.
- Revamped grocery section with an emphasis on fresh categories.
If you want to see where Walmart is heading over the next few years this Virtual Store Tour is for you. With new store openings slowing (or stopping) under Tappenden’s lead we can expect to have more stores renovated using the Ancaster location as inspiration.
We hope you enjoy this Virtual Store Tour! Download the report here.
