Holiday Coffee Cups – Who Did It Best?
It's the most wonderful time of the year... when the quick serve restaurants bring out their Holiday Cups! Every year we see the major QSR coffee chains launch a range of specialty take-away cups for their hot beverages at the beginning of November.
This year we have seen cups with cute animals making hearts from their tails (Tim Hortons) to bright non-traditional holiday colours like blue, yellow and pink (Second Cup and A&W) to cups that could compete as traditional holiday wrapping paper (Starbucks and McDonalds).
Wait – did we just come up with a line extension idea? Gift wrap that matches your coffee cup?
I guess if No Frills can create a social media craze with “no name” gift wrap and bags….
We asked 504 Canadians who are part of the Field Agent research panel to tell us their favourite holiday cup designs for disposable take-away cups across the five major coffee purveyors. We showed them photos of each concept and had them rank the cups from most favourite to least favourite.
The results are in and this year’s most preferred holiday coffee cup design for disposable take-away cups is the Starbucks range shown below which was the #1 concept of 51% of the respondents in the survey.
