One store we've been eager to visit is the Couche-Tard Connecté innovation lab in Montreal, created in collaboration with McGill University. This lab, which also operates as a regular Couche-Tard on McGill's downtown campus, allows researchers from the Bensadoun School of Retail Management to experiment with new retail strategies in a practical environment.
The store features a contactless payment system that employs cameras throughout the premises to monitor your purchases. Shoppers can use the smart check-out machine to scan and pay for their items, eliminating the need for human interaction.
