This week we have a special edition of Field Agent Canada's Virtual Store Visit with our General Manager, Jeff Doucette on vacation in Portugal. He just had to visit a Mercadona store in Porto between sips of port wine!
Mercadona is a Spanish retailer that focuses heavily on its private label assortment with which it has built enormous trust in Spain and Portugal by delivering quality goods at low prices with a few national brands mixed in.
Founded in 1977 with 1,636 stores across Spain and Portugal it has revenues in excess of 20 billion euros and is a dominant player in Spain in particular.
