Field Agent Canada surveyed 1168 Canadian grocery shoppers to see how their shopping habits have changed and who is on the shopping trip. As you can see in the infographic below there is a greater proportion of trips being made by solo shoppers and we have seen the incidence rates of children in the buggy fall by half in 2020 and a year later trips with children have still not recovered.
If you are in a category affected by children in the buggy such as cereal, confectionary or pet treats, this lasting impact to shopping habits is a big concern.
If you need help getting inside the mind of these SOLO SHOPPERS or how to get kids products in the basket when mom is shopping without the kids, our Shopper Insights team would love to help. Contact us today!
