Canadian Tire recently opened up a 140,000 square foot, two story showcase store in South Edmonton Common that is the largest Canadian Tire store in Canada. It is double to triple the size of regular stores and has been touted as a shopping event.
This new store contains over 73,000 items and integrates technology within the store in many different ways. There are over 100 digital screens, a driving simulator to test tires in different weather conditions, a 3D patio planner, and lots of other technology throughout.
The vehicle repair shop features 19 drive-in auto bays that automatically measure and display a vehicle’s tire tread depth as customers drive in. Selector screens let you pick out tires and vehicle accessories, and email selections to yourself.
Stores items have been tailored to the Edmonton market and feature key assortment extensions in truck and trailer, tools and outdoor living, and an extensive hunting and fishing pro shop.
Children can spend time in Legoland, and the sports department features a hockey rapid shot simulator, and the Canada Cup and other hockey memorabilia are on display.
