Many Canadians travel down south of the border to the United States to shop. It’s always interesting to see different products that are available for sale in the United States that have not made it up to Canada (yet).
Recently, our Field Agents were in the Seattle area and spotted some unique grocery store products at a local Walmart store. These products are not available in Canada, yet but we think would make interesting additions to grocery shelves here in our country.
In particular we love the Ticklebelly dessert products that are available for sale in the United States at various food retailers including Kroger, Target, Fred Meyer, and Walmart. The company was first-to-market with a line of cake and brownie pops, and its innovative dessert products have unique flavor combinations, such as Frangelico caramel and coconut lime cake truffles.
In April of this year, Crayola and Friendly’s Ice Cream announced a partnership to sell a premium decorate your own ice cream cake in grocery stores. This deal provides a brand extension for Crayola and serves to further vertically integrate Friendly’s Ice Cream. Friendly’s Ice Cream operates over 250 Friendly’s restaurants and manufacturers ice cream products distributed in over 8,000 retail outlets. The company has also partnered to provide the Reese’s Ice Cream cake.
Many unique grocery store items have not made their way up to Canada yet, but we have our fingers crossed that they do!
