The integration of SDM and Loblaw seems to have been a very good fit and Galen Weston Jr. and the Loblaw organization must be feeling very good about what they have accomplished in gaining synergies between the two retailers.
One of our Agents spotted this display of Joe Fresh branded costume jewellery at a Shoppers Drug Mart location and this got us thinking about what might be next for SDM.
We thought about how Canadian Tire has successfully integrated its Mark’s brand of clothing into its biggest stores and how we might start seeing SDM stores inside RCSS stores, bringing the credibility of SDM to the RCSS pharmacy business (much like Target’s roll-out out CVS pharmacies in its US stores).
Or what about even larger SDM stores that not only include a wider assortment of food including President’s Choice products, but maybe a Joe Fresh boutique with a focus on baby and children’s clothing?
Who knows what 2016 will bring – but we bet it will be exciting! Happy Holidays!
