Electric vehicle (EV) drivers in Edmonton now have a spot to enjoy a snack and unwind while their cars charge. In September 2024, ChargeStop Technologies Inc. launched an EV-exclusive service station in Old Strathcona. The company claims it's the first of its kind in Canada.
The station features five Level 3 (super-fast) charging stalls, which ChargeStop states can charge most EVs to 85 percent in about 20 minutes.
To avoid any wait time, drivers can reserve a stall in advance through the company's app.
At the station, drivers will also discover a convenience store offering food and drinks, restrooms, and a seating area.
